Outdoor Classroom
The Library Garden is also used as an outdoor classroom to:

Help children ages 6 to 10 years old develop skills as nature detectives

Express their curiosity about nature
-
Expand their awareness of trees, shrubs, annuals, perennials, and herbs
On May 19th, 2025 the local Potomac Daisy group learned about Tussie Mussies and made their own to take home after visiting the herb garden in the Potomac Library.
In previous years children learned about annuals, perennials, and planted daffodils.
